This area was central to the Parachute Regt in WW2 and men of the 1st Parachute Brigade were even based in Harlaxton Manor and the Gregory Arms in the months before the drop on Arnhem that came to be known as "A Bridge Too Far"

About the Event

Brian Fare is a well known and respected history guide and speaker with a particular interest in the military past that surrounds Melton Mowbray and Grantham. In WW2 these towns sat at the centtre of an area busy with trops of the British and American airborne forces. This talk falls a wek before the 80th anniversary of the Operation known as Market Garden.
